The aim of the NMDX is to consolidate the Study Period by developing a practical understanding of group dynamics in an exercise environment where multinational consensus-building negotiations, mediation, and decision-making processes are practiced in accordance with the NATO Crisis Management Process.
The NATO Regional Cooperation Course (NRCC) is the Alliance’s major educational outreach to Mediterranean Dialogue (MD) and Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI) countries and partners from the broader region of the Middle East.
With its modularized structure, certain of the Senior Course (SC) Study Periods are available to military officers and civilian officials who may not be able to attend the NATO Defense College (NDC) for the five-month duration of a Senior Course. Accordingly, the NDC offers five Modular Short Courses (MSCs) during every SC of 5 days duration.

International Negotiations & Multilateral Simulation Exercise (MSX) addressed to Senior Course 140 so that CMs get familiar on how the multinational consensus-building processes works in the framework of International Organizations in order to determine a common course of action. Also, to use it as a preliminary training exercise for the Crisis Management and Negotiation, Mediation & Decision-Making Exercise (NMDX) that the CMs will carry out some weeks later.

Also, to use it as a preliminary training exercise for the Crisis Management and Negotiation, Mediation & Decision-Making Exercise (NMDX) that the CMs will carry out some weeks later.
The NDC offers an optional two-week intensive English Refresher Course (ERC), which is available for those nominees who formally already possess the required English proficiency level but whose actual level has weakened due to lack of practice. The primary aim of the 2-week English Refresher Course is to verify that CMs who attend are at level 3 or above by the end of the training.
A mandatory Daily Language Training (DLT) of approximately 50 lessons of 50 minutes each is offered by the NDC to improve CMs’ English or French language proficiency.
